Kelly Clark admits she may have to be Celtic goalkeeper again as injury crisis deepens

Kelly Clark admits she may have to be a makeshift goalkeeper again if Celtic’s injury crisis does not improve after their 2-1 defeat to Glasgow City on Sunday.
The defender played 78 minutes in goal after Anna Vincenti was injured, with the club’s other shot-stoppers Chloe Logan and Rachael Johnstone also unavailable.
She was beaten twice by Priscilla Chinchilla and Clare Shine before Charlie Wellings pulled a late one back as Celtic threatened to come away with an unlikely draw.
“I’ll do what I need to do for the club,” Clark told Anyone’s Game.
“And, if it’s playing in goals for the next few weeks, then it’s playing in goals for the next few weeks. And if it’s sitting on the bench for the next few weeks then it’s that.
“I just do what Fran [Alonso] asks me to do and I got the question today and I was never going to say no. I’ll step up and take that one for the team, but we will need to see what happens over the next few days and hopefully we can sort it out, but if not then I’m happy to step in again next week.”
The defeat leaves Celtic trailing second-place Rangers by 10 points having played two games more, and 11 behind Glasgow City, and their hopes of a Champions League now look slim.
“I don’t think motivation will be an issue for the remainder of the season,” said Clark, whose side still have the Scottish Women’s Cup to play for.
“You never know what could happen. You wouldn’t have predicted me going in goals today so there is still a lot of games to be played and who knows, we will keep working away and keep progressing through the cup games.”
