Grant Scott believes it is a positive Glasgow City have been forced to battle back from behind in their last two SWPL 1 games.

The Scottish champions trailed to Hamilton last weekend before eventually overcoming Gary Doctor’s side 3-1.

And on Thursday they again found themselves in a losing position against Partick Thistle before claiming the three points by the same scoreline.

“This shows there’s a lot of character in this group,” Scott told Anyone’s Game.

“We are leaving the game on Sunday and leaving the game on Thursday thinking we are not quite yet finding our finest form, but yet we are still managing to do enough to win games.

“Unfortunately, we have gone behind in both of those games recently but there’s real strength and character there, so I just hope we can take that into the upcoming games.”

The 14-in-a-row champions host Spartans on Sunday, leading the title race on goal difference ahead of Celtic, with Rangers and Hibernian just one point behind.

A double from Cailin Michie and a late Priscila Chinchilla penalty continued their unbeaten start to the domestic season.

Scott said: “I’m delighted with the points first and foremost. I thought Partick were a really difficult opponent. They set themselves up really well and made the game very tight.”

He added: “I didn’t think we played badly. I thought we were quite poor this Sunday past, but against Partick we moved the ball about the pitch better and played the game at a good tempo.

“The teams all around the league are improving. The strength and depth and all-round professionalism. Partick have got a number of experienced players there who have played at good clubs as well so I think they have a good squad and will give a lot more teams problems from what I have seen.”
