Scott Booth: Glasgow City facing Champions League standard teams in Rangers & Celtic

Glasgow City are facing Champions League standard teams now in Rangers and Celtic, believes head coach Scott Booth.

The 13-in-a-row champions beat Rangers 2-0 on Sunday, and now travel to Celtic on Wednesday hoping to continue their unbeaten run in 2021.

They lead second-place Celtic in the SWPL 1 by five points, with Rangers one point further behind.

“In terms of are Rangers and Celtic the standard of a Champions League team, you would say yes.

“They have invested heavily, that’s where they want to be. It’s definitely getting tough when you play these games.”

Celtic’s win over Motherwell moved them above Rangers and into second in SWPL 1, but a third defeat of the season to Booth’s side would leave them eight points behind with just six games to go.

However, Booth wouldn’t be drawn on whether that would rule Fran Alonso’s side out of the title race.
