After beating Celtic 3-0, Glasgow City follow up with another resounding win
Glasgow City continued their impressive return to SWPL action with another emphatic victory in Forfar.
Debutant Ode Fulutudilu left with the match ball after firing in a second half hat-trick while Sharon Wojcik, Nicole Robertson, Julia Molin and Jo Love all added gloss to the scoreline.
In an astonishing first half, the Scottish champions hit the crossbar four times and the side netting three times, but they found their clinical edge with six goals after half-time.
Scott Booth’s side remain second on goal difference after Rangers beat Spartans, but the huge win was a boost to their goal difference which could become crucial in the battle for SWPL 1 glory.
They have now scored 10 goals without reply in their two matches since the extended break.
Glasgow City started on the front foot with Prinsilla Chinchilla working goalkeeper Lauren Perry within the first minute, then Maddie Fulton struck the crossbar from the edge of the box seconds later.
The visitors showed they were meaning business with Arna Sif Asgrimsdottir and Nicole Robertson also having headers on target within the early exchanges.
Chinchilla, Fulton, Molin all hit the bar again, while fine goalkeeping from Forfar Farmington goalkeeper Perry kept the score level.
However, Sharon Wojcik opened the scoring with a close range effort high into the top corner after Fulutudilu cut it back from the byline, with just two minutes left of the half.
Fulutudilu grabbed a debut goal just a minute into the second half to double her side's lead with a fantastic header.
The new recruit doubled her tally to make it 3-0 with a clinical finish at the back post.
Robertson made it 4-0 to the visitors when she latched on to a great Asgrimsdottir knock down from a corner.
Molin got in on the act on the hour mark after impressive footwork from Chinchilla to set up the finish.
The previous game between the sides was a 8-1 victory to the current SWPL champions. And, with 30 minutes still to play, it was beginning to look like another heavy defeat for Forfar at the hands of City.
Donna Paterson had a rare effort for the hosts with 10 minutes remaining however her strike from distance sailed well over the bar.
Substitute Jo Love made it 6-0 with a superb finish from 25 yards out, with the goal wide open after Perry’s poor clearance.
South African international Fulutudilu completed her hat trick with a terrific low finish into the bottom corner.
